A new event series has been confirmed for Dublin next month, aimed at connecting local entrepreneurs. Startup Grind is a community of founders, entrepreneurs and ‘wantrapreneurs’ looking to be inspired, educate and network with the smartest startup minds. The series, which began in Silicon Valley in 2010, is currently running in 20 cities with plans for expansion to 30 before 2013.

The event hosts one main speaker who shares their story and gives advice on starting your own business. Sean O’Sullivan, MC of SOSVentures and CEO of Avego, has been confirmed as the guest speaker for the first Dublin event, due to take place on 19 September.

The session will be held in Telefonica’s Wayra Academy in Dublin’s Docklands. Seed Investing at the Lucey Fund will host the event. Darren Milvihill, head of Seed Investing said: "Derek Anderson founded Startup Grind in 2010 and we randomly got talking about raising seed money on Twitter one day. We stayed in touch and I thought it was an amazing idea to have a regular speaking engagement that could potentially inform the community and inspire founders and potential entrepreneurs – almost like a college society for tech people."
