Oracle has launched its new entry-level programme known as ‘Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Quick Start Plus’ in Ireland.

The new programme will extend its reach into the small and medium business community and is for new Oracle VARs and independent software vendors (ISVs) who wish to sell Oracle’s Database and Application Server Standard Edition and Standard Edition One, it said.

OPN QuickStart Plus builds on OPN QuickStart, which began in September 2004. OPN QuickStart currently allows resellers to offer Standard Edition One products aimed at the small business market while OPN QuickStart Plus extends this reach to include ISVs and partners who wish to sell Standard Edition designed for midsize businesses.

Paudie Gavin, Oracle brand manager OpenPSL, said QuickStart Plus is “ideal” for Ireland when one considers the typical company size and their likely business requirements.

He said the new programme provides the benefits of Oracle’s resources to a broader range of resellers and ISVs and illustrates the company’s commitment to the small and medium business community.

Paraic Kennedy, channel manager at Oracle Ireland said the company is committed to ensuring its partner programme provides “optimum value”.

“By introducing OPN QuickStart Plus, we are confident of providing our new Irish resellers and ISVs with the most secure, scaleable and affordable technology available to meet the needs of the fast growing mid-market,” he said.
