Oracle expands East Point presence

Oracle has opened a Global Development and IT Services Centre building at East Point Business Park in Dublin.

Three company divisions will be located at the new 5,250 sq m facility: Worldwide Product Localisation, the European Development and Technology Centre and Global IT Services.

Following the expansion of all lines of business in East Point, Oracle decided 18 months ago to centralise its technology groups and services teams within one building. Employees based there have a software engineering focus. Worldwide Product Translation (WPT) manages the localisation of all Oracle products and education courseware into almost 30 languages.

The European Development and Technology Centre (EDTC) ports the Oracle Server and Tools to key platforms, contributes to the testing, automation and certification strategy of Oracle, and has worldwide responsibility for the development of migration tools.

Global IT supports Oracle’s IT desktop and network infrastructure throughout EMEA and provides multi-lingual hot-line support to Oracle Staff worldwide while the Network Services group provides support for Oracle EMEA’s network infrastructure.

The centre becomes the fourth Oracle building to be housed on the northside Dublin business campus. When the new building was opened in mid-January, Oracle said it had 60 positions to fill across all of its Irish divisions. The software giant plans to recruit more than 250 employees in the coming year.
