One in six e-mails contains a virus reports IT Force

Almost One in six e-mails sent last week contained a virus, while 82 per cent were spam, according to the latest report from IT Force, an Irish provider of consulting and technical services.

The IT Force weekly Spam Report shows a one per cent drop in spam to 82 per cent while it showed the total of emails with viruses was 17 per cent. The most common viruses were Worm.Zafi.B and Worm.SomeFool.P.

IT Force’s research analyzed a total of 6.1m emails, received by IT Force and its clients over 24 hours. Of these, 5m emails were SPAM (82 per cent of all emails), while 1m emails sent contained viruses.
