Olympus has taken the wraps off two new digital cameras: The C-60 Zoom, a 6.1Megapixel model with a compact size and plenty of functions; and the D-395, a 3.2Megapixel model with a low price point.

The C-60 Zoom features Olympus’ TruePic TURBO Image Processor, which enables rapid start-up, shutter release and playback, as well as PictBridge technology for printing directly from the camera to any PictBridge-enabled printer.

It also offers 3x optical and 4x digital zoom, macro mode for sharper close-ups, dual auto focus, and a semi-transmissive LCD screen that combines a back light with the ability to allow light to penetrate a few layers into the LCD, resulting in a brighter image even in direct sunlight.

The C-60 Zoom also offers 13 shooting modes as well as six scene program modes and a MyMode option that allows you to save custom camera settings. Program Auto lets the camera choose the best settings for any given situation. You can also save audio narration for your still images or record short QuickTime Motion JPEG video clips.

Images transfer to your computer via USB 2.0. The cable for that is included, as is a 32Mbyte XD-Picture Card, a Lithium Ion rechargeable battery and charger, an RM-2 remote control, an audio/video out cable, and a wrist strap.

If you’re looking for an entry-level camera instead, the D-395 has PictBridge technology, 2.5x digital zoom, 6 shooting modes, a two-in-one picture option that shoots images in a split-screen view and takes up less memory than two separate snapshots, and QuickTime Movie Mode for brief silent film clips.

The D-395 comes with a 16Mbyte XD-Picture Card, a USB 1.1 cable for image transfer, 2 AA batteries and a wrist strap.
