Nvidia is making history by establishing the first-ever manufacturing centres in the US for its advanced AI supercomputers. This initiative is part of the company’s ambitious goal of producing $500 billion worth of AI infrastructure in the United States over the next four years.

The increase in US semiconductor production can be partially attributed to the new chip tariffs introduced in March 2025. Major technology players such as Apple, TSMC and OpenAI have invested more than $1 trillion in building US tech and AI infrastructure. President Trump’s personal investments in some of these companies show even more confidence in this burgeoning sector.

These reshoring efforts promise a host of benefits: more jobs, better supply chain security, and the revival of America’s industrial base.

Nvidia’s Blackwell chips are already being produced at TSMC’s Phoenix, Arizona plant. The company is also working with leading manufacturers to build assembly plants for supercomputers in Texas. Foxconn will assume operations in Houston, while Wistron will oversee production in Dallas. Full production at both locations is expected within the next 12-15 months.

The complex manufacturing process of AI chips and supercomputers requires advanced manufacturing, packaging, assembly and testing technologies. Nvidia is partnering with Amkor and SPIL for these crucial stages in Arizona.

Nvidia plans to invest heavily in US manufacturing over the next four years, partnering with TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor and SPIL to produce up to $500 billion worth of AI infrastructure. These global companies are deepening their collaboration with Nvidia , expanding their operations and strengthening the resilience of their supply chains.

Nvidia’s AI supercomputers serve as the foundation for a new generation of data centers designed specifically to process artificial intelligence – essentially AI factories. In the coming years, we can expect the construction of numerous gigawatt AI factories that will drive the growth of a transformative AI industry. Production of Nvidia’s AI chips and supercomputers in the United States is expected to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and generate trillions of dollars in economic growth over the coming decades.

Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia, emphasised the importance of this milestone by stating that “the engines of the world’s AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time.” He added that US manufacturing will enable Nvidia to better meet the rising demand for AI chips and supercomputers, while at the same time strengthening the supply chain and increasing resilience.

To optimise the design and operation of these facilities, Nvidia will leverage its advanced technologies, including AI, robotics and digital twins. Nvidia Omniverse will be used to create digital replicas of factories, while Nvidia Isaac GR00T will power robots designed to automate manufacturing processes.
