Nuance selects Dublin for international HQ

Nuance Communications is to set up its international headquarters in Dublin. The voice and language solutions provider will create over 40 positions in sales, finance and human resources.

Nuance employs over 10,000 people in 35 worldwide offices customers and its European customers include Europe Audi, Barclays, BMW, BT, Deutche Bank, Office of Irish Revenue and Vodafone. The company also maintains an imaging business with regional ties to manufacturers such as Canon, HP and Xerox.

Senior vice president and general manager of Nuance EMEA Neil Weston said: "Dublin provides Nuance with an excellent foundation for building on our deep experience and resources in Europe and supporting customers and partners across the region. We are please to be able to leverage and extensive, talented workforce in the region and to join the many premier, multinational technology companies that call Ireland home."

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton said: "A major part of the Government’s plan for jobs and growth is targeting growth sectors where Ireland has particular strengths and seeking to build clusters of companies in those areas. In recent years ICT has been a major success story, and the challenge now is to leverage the major international companies which have operations here to attract further investment."
