Rendez Vu has announced the official beta launch of ExamSpeak.com, a language learning platform for English language students. The NovaUCD elearning company’s platform creates a real time language exam environment to aid students in preparation for their exams.
Students can log into the ExamSpeak.com virtual test room in order to meet virtual examiners and converse with them. The system allows the students to interact with other test takers, as well as showing students their mistakes. The platform awards students a score based on the respective English exam marking scheme. Points are awarded are based upon fluency, vocabulary, grammar, accuracy and ability to communicate.
CEO of RendezVu Paul Groarke maintains that ExamSpeak.com enables students to build confidence in their language skills. Groarke stated that, “ExamSpeak.com provides authentic feedback. Building the confidence that learners need requires validation from an authentic, interactive source, so called ‘face-time’.” Groarke added that, “English language students can now join ExamSpeak.com, prepare for their exams and provide us with feedback on our beta product.”
RendezVu has already won a number of awards including the NovaUCD 2008 Entrepreneur Award and the David Manley 2009 Emerging Entrepreneur Award. The firm was one of the overall winners of ‘iGap – the next wave of Irish disruption’ and was selected to showcase ExamSpeak.com at tomorrow’s Dublin Web Summit in the RDS.
