Software developer NewBay is to offer users full ‘.mobi’ domain names for their personal websites across its suite of products, including its FoneBlog mobile blogging and multimedia album solution, the company announced.
The ‘.mobi’ domain is specifically targeted at mobile friendly websites and is set to become the standard for mobile internet consumer browsing, Newbay said.
Once launched, Foneblog users will be able to by the domain names such as ‘www.johnsmith.mobi,’ instead of ‘www.foneblog.ie/johnsmith.’ Users will be able to store images, contacts and content and share their personal websites with other internet and mobile users.
NewBay has previously offered the option to buy ‘.com’, ‘.org’ or ‘.net’ domain names for their personal websites.
