New tool for credit controllers

A combination of accounts software and a contact manager is probably the ideal tool for a busy credit controller. Almost all accounts systems allow for notes on accounts to record contacts etc. and most will also pop up reminders and warnings – when set up to do so. Similarly, contact managers like ACT! and its stable companion Sage Contact Manager, Goldmine and others can be set up to take in accounts information. But Dublin accounts specialist Quantum Accounting reckons it has identified a niche because accounts systems do not have the contact management functionality and contact/CRM packages tend to have a strong sales bias.

The new Quantum product is Credit Commander, a package aimed at automating a range of credit control functions. Pop-up information screens and actions taken with a few keystrokes or mouse clicks enable the credit controller to handle a large volume of debtors easily and speedily. Reminders, copy invoices and statements, etc. can all be sent instantly by email, fax or print copy for posting – and all such events automatically recorded. It reports directly to Excel for easy analysis. Selling at EUR599 for a single user version, Credit Commander currently integrates out of the box with Pegasus Opera and Take Five with other products “under active consideration.”
