Fujitsu Siemens has unveiled its new Scaleo 600I DVD Movie Maker desktop PC. Designed to encourage home users to take up video editing, this system comes with a built-in DVD+RW drive.

This drive can burn DVD discs, CD R and CD RW and play CDs and DVD movies. The system also features a separate 16x DVD ROM drive.

Shipped with an impressive 19-in monitor, the PC is powered by a Pentium 4 2Ghz processor, offers an impressive 512Mbyte of DDR RAM memory, twin 80Gbyte hard disks so there is ample capacity for digital video footage.

The machine also offers a high end 64Mbyte Nvidia GeForce4 MMX440 graphics card with TV out and video in ports. Operated by Windows XP, Nero DVD and CD burning software is bundled with the system along with Microsoft Worksuite 2002 productivity software, Norman anti-virus, and a selection of Microsoft Games, including Midtown Madness 2 and Crimson Skies.

To get your movies into your PC, the Scaleo 600I offers FireWire, USB and video in ports — allowing you to use the desktop with either a DV or analogue video camcorder or digital still camera.

The Scaleo 600I retails for €3,229.
