Mount Salus Group is using Line 50 Financial Controller software from Sage, to run an e-business Website which sells print and packaging services.

The Website has been operating since early this year. Customers can now procure, source, and track print and stock services within their existing e-procurement framework’ said Jim O’Connor, managing director of Mount Salus Group. The site has already helped the company to win a contract from the ESB which stipulated that the supplier should have an Internet-enabled stock system.

For the past three years, Mount Salus has been offering a print management service which not only catered for a customer’s print and packaging requirements but also looked after the storage and fulfilment of stocks as well.

With the advent of e-commerce, Mount Salus decided to develop a sophisticated e-commerce Website that would serve the company’s needs. The print management side of the business would provide customers with a single point of contact for all print and print-related requirements. Mount Salus would take responsibility for manufacturing, procurement, storage and distribution while reducing costs and improving processes.

‘Customers are demanding more than just print in today’s market’, said O’Connor. ‘We must provide a set of tools to simplify requisitioning processes, and provide accurate and instant information that can be accessed by a wide range of individuals. This must be achieved while continually driving out cost and reducing transaction cycle-times’.

Mount Salus outsourced the project and decided along with the developers of the Web-based application to use Sage products to enable an end-to-end collaborative online print buying process.

‘Our basic criteria for using Sage as the accounting medium were scalability, reliability and ease of use for the end user and the wide range of reports it provides’, commented David Delaney, IT manager at Mount Salus.

‘The core of any e-business solution is a solid, reliable accounts package that works the same way that people think. The solution handles sales and order processing, real-time stock, real-time pricing, storage, picking and shipping costs plus invoicing and statements with management reporting’.

Intellect, a Sage reseller, provided Mount Salus with the Installation and Training of Sage Line 50 Financial Controller. Sage Line 50 was recommended because it is easy to use and had the ability to link to Mount Salus’ current e-business system.

Mount Salus provides financial and stock information as Sage constantly updates the Web base with the latest prices, stock availability and credit records, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Web system allows Mount Salus to have any number of clients each within a secure area and with their own common and unique products and credit limits.
