IT distributor MicroWarehouse has been awarded value add distribution (VAD) partner status by Microsoft Ireland.
Microsoft’s VAD programme is a partnership with distributors that the company identifies globally as key to helping drive reseller awareness, capability and product knowledge of Microsoft’s virtualisation and security solutions. This includes core competencies in infrastructure with Microsoft’s System Centre, Windows Server 2008, Hyper-V and Forefront.
"Microsoft Ireland has a long standing relationship with MicroWarehouse, so naturally we are delighted they have become Microsoft’s first VAD in Ireland," said Colin Cassidy, SMB&D & partner strategy lead, Microsoft Ireland.
With only 40 VAD partners globally, MicroWarehouse becomes Microsoft Ireland’s first VAD partner. The programme focuses on identifying reseller partners that are investing in creating new virtualisation practices or in growing and diversifying their existing business in virtualisation, data-centre and cloud technologies and driving the growth in adoption of Microsoft’s technologies in these areas.
MicroWarehouse manager director Rory Wilson said: "The market for virtualised solutions is growing exponentially and offers a great opportunity for resellers. With this opportunity comes challenges so we are delighted that MicroWarehouse now offers all the technical and selling resources required to support resellers in this area. We have been in business with Microsoft locally since 1992 and see this as a major evolution in the services we can offer our customers."
