Car parts and accessories e-tailer MicksGarage has become the first Irish company to win the gold award in the entrepreneurial category at the European eCommerce Awards in Barcelona last night.

Launched 10 years ago, MicksGarage has a turnover of €11 million and employs 48 people in Dublin’s Park West.  The website, which was also awarded a Golden Spider Award for best retail website in 2007, has 5.6 million unique product listings and the company ships 18,000 orders a month to over 70 countries.

“We are delighted to be awarded the gold award at the European e-Commerce Awards, where we competed against the very best eCommerce players from across Europe,” said Michael Crean, co-founder and operations director, MicksGarage. “This success is down to ten years of dedication and commitment from the entire MicksGarage team and the loyalty of our worldwide customer base. We have invested significant time, resource and expertise in our eCommerce technology platforms through the years and this award is an endorsement of that work.”

The European eCommerce Awards are run by the Global E-commerce Summit and Ecommerce Europe. Award jury members are professional experts with knowledge and experience in the field of cross-border e-commerce. Jury members have an international outlook and experience and are seen as an authority in their own country.
