Merrion Fleet Management is ‘motoring’ with new CRM

An Irish motor leasing company has installed a Web-based CRM system to boost global customer relationship management and customer service.

Merrion Fleet Management has teamed up with salesforce.com to track sales leads and customer opportunities. The Dublin-based company is one of global company, Fleet Synergy International’s 25 partners that have implemented the system using salesforce.com’s Internet based CRM.

Salesforce.com, whose EMEA headquarters is based in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow, replaces an IBM Lotus Notes system. According to Hans Damen, Regional Sales & Marketing Director with Fleet Synergy International, the company chose salesforce.com because of the speed of implementation, cost and ease of use.

The CRM system is delivered through the Internet as an online information utility via a web services infrastructure. This eliminates the need to buy, install or maintain hardware, software, networks or hosting. The CRM is also a pay-as-you-go service, with a monthly fee per user, instead of investing in upfront licensing charges.
