Irish-owned digital media manufacturer Trend Studios has completed a €1.2 milion capital investment in new manufacturing facilities. The company has simultaneously rebranded as Trend Digital Media to reflect its focus on the growth segments for digital media which complement its traditional entertainment customer base.

The firm says its investment makes it the largest Irish producer of digital media and that it reinforces its ability to compete with overseas manufacturers. It is now also in an improved position to meet short- to medium-run Irish orders for CDs and DVDs.

Trend offers a turnkey approach to digital media for customers that include Intel. It provides in-house digital recording and editing, authoring and mastering, and print and packaging.

Trend chief executive Joe Morley commented: “This gives us a critical competitive edge against international manufacturers, who cannot provide the complete service in a timely and cost effective manner. “

Morley added: As two of the largest international groups have recently pulled out of the Irish market, our investment in additional capacity allows us to efficiently service the increased local demand.”
