The V960 Shared Virtual Array Disk System from StorageTek makes use of maximum storage space. The disk systems are available for simultaneous use with mainframe and Unix server platforms and support StorageTek’s SnapShot data duplication software for making instant virtual copies of large data sets without buying more disk capacity.
The StorageTek V960 writes the data in the order it’s created so the administrator can fill a 1Tbyte system with 1Tbyte of data and users will still have their own allocations. The logical and physical views of a device are separate. A user’s assigned f: drive, for example might not correspond to a physical drive.
