IBM’s ImageUltra Builder software helps companies save money on the deployment of personal computers across their enterprise. The software is now available directly to corporations for the first time, offering a solution to a problem that has plagued IT departments for years.

Managing the software image on individual PCs can be a costly and frustrating problem for IT professionals. As the software image gets more complex across a large enterprise, image management consumes ever greater amounts of human and financial resources. ImageUltra Builder helps minimise time used by IT managers juggling thousands of images stored on their company’s computers and can significantly lower the organisation’s total cost of ownership of each individual PC.

ImageUltra Builder allows in-house IT staffs to streamline and simplify the image management and deployment process, while maintaining control of their custom imaging processes.

It works with industry-standard deployment tools, such as Microsoft Sysprep, enhancing an IT department’s ability to support a broad variety of IBM ThinkPad notebook and IBM NetVista desktop model types.

The software can be used in many ways, including automating software application installation; easing the transition to a new operating system; reducing the number of custom images through consolidation; creating a custom image that will remain stable over time; and maintaining one image that can work across multiple IBM PCs.

ImageUltra Builder Version 1.0 for IBM PCs costs EUR1,596 and includes 100 client licences. It costs a further EUR16 per client licence after 100 replications, and EUR9 per licence after 10,000 replications.
