LinkedIn plans move to new Dublin home

LinkedIn has announced plans today to move its international headquarters in Dublin after acquiring a 17,507sq m site at Wilton Place. The new site has capacity to see the social network for professionals workforce grow from 600 to 1,200 people. The investment is supported by the IDA.

Construction work on the new International headquarters will begin in May 2015 with building works expected to be completed at the beginning of 2017.

Since its arrival in Dublin in March 2010, LinkedIn has grown substantially from an initial three people, to more than 600 employees today

Sharon McCooey, senior director, LinkedIn Ireland, said: “Ireland is now one of LinkedIn’s top markets when it comes to member penetration. For that reason we are extremely pleased to be announcing a further investment in Ireland and an expansion of our operational presence here.”

LinkedIn did not specify the value of the investment or plans to create new jobs.
