Lenovo has introduced what it describes as the industry’s first 22-inch widescreen ultra XGA (WUXGA) resolution monitor. It is aimed at use in the engineering, scientific, financial, and medical industries, and in executive reception areas.
Lenovo claims its ThinkVision L220x wide monitor has the highest resolution of any monitor this screen size and that it is also the first monitor of this type to support full high definition HD 1080p video.
Business development manager Daniel Kiernan said: “We believe the L220x tilting is special. You can rotate, pivot and tilt the screen so it can be seen from many angles. It also offers cable management, so you don’t have to worry about the cable getting in the way when you move the monitor.”
The L220x automatically resets image orientation when it rotates between landscape and portrait view, giving it the flexibility to be used in various work environments. Kiernan said LCD monitors now account for 91% of all monitor sales.
The new monitor offers a dot density of 103 pixels-per-inch, creating more vivid blacks to emphasise colours which, Lenovo says, provides a better image than today’s 22″ wide Super XGA (SXGA) alternatives.
