Lighting and Electrical Distribution Group (LED), Ireland’s leading manufacturer and distributor of innovative lighting solutions, has chosen Asavie’s AccessMyLan.com solution, giving remote users in LED Group access to their corporate e-mail, back office systems, sales and customer reports, and product information.
When considering a solution, LED Group was faced with a wide range of remote access demands from their users, including access to e-mail while on the road, access to the company LAN and to on-demand access to reports. In addition, the IT department wanted to reduce the cost and complexity associated with implementing multiple solutions with a single solution that could be rapidly deployed and address all their needs.
Asavie’s AccessMyLan.com provides LED Group’s IT support staff with an easy to use web based interface from which to manage their VPN. The solution requires no internal network reconfiguration, and remote users can be provisioned automatically via e-mail or SMS. With no additional hardware to manage and maintain, LED’s IT staff can now focus on servicing their users.
“The remote users in LED Group are primarily non-technical employees focused on sales and operational performance,” explained Asavie business development director John Byrne. “The end user experience was critical to the successful deployment of AccessMyLan.com, and its ease of use is demonstrated by the 50 LED employees using it today.”
Gary Seery, IT Manager at LED Group said: “AccessMyLan.com has improved our service levels to our colleagues. Its ease of deployment and administration make this product a brilliant addition to the services we as an IT department offer to our colleagues.”
