Just Eat introduces drone delivery service with Manna
Just Eat has launched a drone delivery service using drones from Irish company Manna. With this partnership, Just Eat aims to deliver food orders directly to customers in Dublin within just three minutes of being loaded.
Known for its broad delivery capabilities, from meals and medicine to books, Manna has successfully completed 165,000 deliveries to date. The company operates under the established regulatory framework of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), ensuring safe and compliant drone operations. The company is actively planning expansions to other European countries in cooperation with local governments and communities.
Jessica Hall, chief product officer at Just Eat, emphasised this by saying that the partnership represents their ongoing commitment to finding and implementing cutting-edge methods to improve the customer experience.
Just Eat has recently focused on integrating technological advances into its platform. Last year, they partnered with Mercedes to enable in-car food ordering. This year, it plans to expand an AI assistant, initially launched in the United Kingdom, to new markets including Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Australia.
The assistant allows users to place orders via text message, receive personalised recommendations for new restaurants and meals, streamline the ordering process and improve user discovery.
