HP has launched a new nationwide digital photography competition for Irish primary and special needs schools.

The HP Digital Imagination Challenge is open to both teachers and pupils. To enter the competition, pupils should take a film-based or digital photo to fit one of three themes: Friends, Holidays or Technology.

The pupil should then attach the photo to the application form, accompanied by a 50-word description of what the photo means to them.

Completed application forms should be sent to the HP Digital Imagination Challenge, TecBrand, 37 Leeson Close, Dublin 2. The closing date is April 30th 2004 and entries can also be submitted online by visiting the competition’s website.

Prizes for include a HP digital camera for each of the 32 county winners; a HP Photosmart printer for each of the four provincial winners; and one overall Irish winner will get a Media Centre PC. Teachers who supervise the winning pupils can also win prizes, with the four provincial winners getting a digital camera and the overall winner receiving a printer. The four provincial winning schools each get a laser printer, while the overall winning school will earn itself HP Media Centre.
