The day-long event will include standard conference presentations, as well as what the IIA CEO, Fergal O’Byrne, describes as ‘in the round’ sessions, which will allow delegates to sit in on smaller gatherings with teams of experts in Internet security, online marketing, hosting and domain issues, user experience and online privacy. “Each room will host 15 minutes of rolling presentations followed by Q&A so attendees can attend all these sessions and ask very specific questions or join in the round if they want to focus on one issue,” said O’Byrne.
O’Byrne said that the entire seminar will be Wi-Fi enabled and that delegates will be given a free Bitbuzz voucher for the day to enable them to work if they want to catch up or don’t want to be away from their e-mail for the day. Tickets for the events, costing €195 for members and €250 for non members, are available online at www.iia.ie.
Before that, however, on Wednesday 12 April, the IIA and Engineers Ireland will team up for a half-day event focusing on the commercial applications of blogging, podcasting and RSS feeds. The event which will include presentations, live demonstrations and Q&A, will be co-hosted by Michele Neylon of Blacknight Solutions and Brian Greene of Doop Design. The venue is the Engineers Ireland headquarters at 22 Clyde Road, Dublin 4 and the fee is €50 for IEI/IIA members and €65 for non members. Contact events@iia.ie for more information.
The association, in conjunction with Kilkenny County Enterprise Board (KCEB), will also hold a half-day seminar on maximising website returns at the Lyrath Estate Hotel, Kilkenny, on Thursday 20 April. Aimed at website owners, marketing managers and web designers, the seminar aims to show how to develop content designed to appeal to users and search engines. There’s a fee of €25 for IIA and KCEB members and €45 for non-members. For more information, go to www.iia.ie.
