Cloud nine: Iomega’s Huberman unveils transformed NAS devices that become cloud servers

Digital storage and content management solutions specialist Iomega has unveiled what it describes as personal cloud technology, a data protection and remote access set-up designed to give users control of their own Personal Cloud without complexities and extra costs.

Iomega’s Personal Cloud technology is entirely self-owned and there are no usage fees or subscription charges.

Iomega president Jonathan Huberman comments:”We have transformed our NAS devices into cloud servers that users can access anywhere, any time.”

He said users who buy two or more Iomega NAS products can now “remotely backup your onsite data to an alternate location, be it your office, home or some other location.” He said this would provide small businesses with a disaster recovery plan that is “easy to implement and economical.”

Iomega Personal Cloud becomes available with the launch of the new single-drive Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive Cloud Edition.
