Dublin-based specialist Mobile Travel Technologies is powering a new mobile booking service for Hilton Hotels.

The service lets travellers use a mobile device to select and book a hotel, access and change bookings, and view hotel images and information.

The service is integrated with the hotel chain’s loyalty club system, and includes a version for iPhone users.

Hilton Mobile uses MTT’s intelligent mobile hotel platform, m2bed, automatically directing customers to a view of the site optimised for their particular device. The site has been developed to minimise clicking, typing and scrolling.

MTT has grown rapidly since starting life as an Enterprise Ireland start-up. The firm says usage of mobile travel services powered by MTT is growing by about 20% monthly and that mobile user volumes are typically 5% to 7% of the level of PC web sites.

MTT founder Gerry Samuels notes: “Mobile technology is playing an increasing role in new marketing and distribution strategies of major hotel chains, and these are now seeing strong revenue growth.”
