Irish-owned managed services specialist HiberniaEvros Technology Group has signed an agreement with HP to acquire its CloudSystem Matrix and HP 3PAR storage offerings. The deal, valued at €500,000, will deliver the back end technologies to drive HiberniaEvros’ infrastructure as a service (IAAS) cloud solution.
The HiberniaEvros deal follows HP’s acquisition in September 2010 of storage company 3PAR. This is the first installation of the HP 3PAR storage system combined with HP’s CloudSystem Matrix in the country.
"This technology will enable us to deliver a cutting edge infrastructure as a service to our customers," said Brian Larkin, operations director, HiberniaEvros. "It was an easy decision to invest in this solution as it offers a far greater level of integration, resilience and functionality out of the box than the alternatives available in the market today."
HiberniaEvros recently announced a €1.6 million investment in a new cloud computing division that will create 50 jobs over the next three years. The new division provides computing on demand to allow companies of all sizes to outsource fully their entire IT infrastructure requirements.
Mark McKeon, head of ESSN, HP Ireland said: "We are delighted to bring these innovative technologies to Ireland. We have had a close relationship with HiberniaEvros for a number of years now and look forward to continuing to bring the value of HP products and services to them."
