Irish physics software developers Havok has unveiled its new its new package of applications at the Games Developer Conference (GDC) in San Francisco last week.
Havok 6.5 includes dramatic extensions to in-game software and production tools that deliver destructible environments, and dynamic character behaviors with simulated clothing.
Outlining the importance of the new software, David O’Meara, managing director of Havok said, “With the introduction of Havok 6.5, our cross-platform software and tools will continue to positively impact the overall quality and performance of the games featuring our technologies, with over 75 games anticipated for release in 2009 alone.”
Havok technology has also been used in animated and feature films around the world, including the Matrix, Troy and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
