The online store www.galaxycomputers.ie was launched in 2002. Whereas most businesses develop their online service through their foundations in retail, Galaxy Computers is one of the few businesses in Ireland to expand from an online business to retail outlet. Thanks to Galaxy’s online background, the new shop can provide customers with the latest products the next day after placing an order.
Products can be collected in Naas or delivered to the customer. The new Galaxy shop is not restricted by the need to ‘clear stock’ and is therefore free to offer customers the very latest and most suitable product to match their needs.
Commenting at the opening Bob Curran, owner of Galaxy Computers said, ‘Technology is moving so fast these days and manufacturers are improving models at such a rate it’s hard to keep up. Because we order each product individually for a customer they are guaranteed that if there is a newer model available or coming online we are in a position to get it for them. We won’t tell a customer a particular model is the best because we have 40 models to clear from the stockroom—we can let the customer know about all the options and let them make a fully informed decision.’
Galaxy Computers’ selection includes computers, printers, digital cameras, MP3 players, video games, mobile phones, plasma screens and numerous accessories.
