Omate Truesmart

Omate’s Truesmart became the fifth most funded project in the design category on crowdfunding website KickStarter.

The Truesmart smartwatch is more than just a Bluetooth accessory for an Android or iOS handset. It has the ability to record HD videos, take pictures and share them instantly on social networks and make calls and text messages instead of just receiving them.

The Omate TrueSmart is powered a MT6572 1.3GHz Dual Core chipset from MediaTek Inc making it faster than the more slick Galaxy Gear and almost twice that of Sony’s Smartwatch 2. It also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, quad-band GSM support and runs a full version of Android 4.2

Storage and memory options are surprisingly generous, starting at 512Mb RAM and 4Gb integrated storage.

Price: From $249
