Part of Sun Microsystems’ entry-level server range, the Sun Fire V210 and V240 SPARC/Solaris servers run the UltraSPARC IIIi processor on a Solaris Operating System, and are delivered with a full suite of integrated Sun ONE software. The servers are also equipped with four integrated gigabit Ethernet ports for I/O and an optional integrated SSL card for added security. Other functions as standard include remote management capabilities and mobile server identity.
These servers are suited for use as front-end, enterprise and technical computing applications. A number of enterprise applications are supported on these new systems from Sun’s iForce partners including BEA Systems, Check Point, Callisto, iVAST, Kasenna, Mentor Graphics, Oracle, SAP, and VERITAS Software.
