Sage Pay is to create 15 new jobs at its Irish headquarters in Dublin over the next year. The jobs will be in the areas of sales, customer service, marketing, software development and IT services.

The payments services provider currently employs 50 people and plans to increase this to 65 by the end of next year. Sage Pay process billions of euro per annum for merchants domestically and internationally, across a wide range of industries including retail, fuel, insurance, car park and healthcare. Clients include AIB, Clery’s, Topaz and McCabe’s Pharmacy.

Sean Wilson, mManaging director, Sage Pay Ireland, said: “These roles are part of the on-going investment in our Irish operations to support our growing local business and the broader opportunities within Sage Pay Europe. Expanding our skilled team will accelerate efforts on several major products currently under development”

The announcement comes as the growth in contactless payments continues to increase; Sage Pay reported a 2,500% increase in contactless transactions in August. Some 6,000 Sage Pay Ireland customers have installed the contactless machines to date, with the number set to rise further over the coming months as retailers recognise the benefits of this new technology.
