The Internet of Things and Smart Cities: Privacy in a Connected World

    7.30 – 9am

    ICS, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4

The Internet of Things (IoT) is growing every day – today there are 7 billion internet-connected devices in the world; by 2025 there will be 21 billion, but where does privacy fit in? Using industry case studies and examining specific IoT devices, this talk will discuss the enormous privacy issues that stem from this rapidly emerging sector and ask: ‘Can we have meaningful privacy in a world where even the home (the last bastion of privacy) is becoming inundated with devices that track our every move?’
