The European Digital Press (EDP) Association has recognised two Epson printers as the ‘Best Proofing Equipment of the Year’ in its prestigious 2009 awards. They are the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and the Epson Stylus Pro 9900.

The association’s judging panel of print industry experts said they were particularly impressed with the improved UltraChrome high dynamic range inks and the pioneering MicroPiezo thin film piezo print head technology.

The UltraChrome HDR ink works seamlessly with the MicroPiezo TFP print head to deliver perfectly spherical dots at increased print speeds to ensure the highest possible image quality.

Epson’s Duncan Ferguson noted: “This award demonstrates Epson’s commitment to innovation and quality. Offering speed and repeatability.”

Ferguson added: “We are thrilled that the EDP Association has acknowledged that the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and Epson Stylus Pro 9900 are at the forefront of this market.”

The machines will be on show at FESPA Digital in Amsterdam from May 12 to14 May.
