Ergo bolsters software practice with acquisition of BoatyardX
Ergo has acquired custom software developer BoatyardX for an undisclosed sum. BoatyardX uses leading-edge cloud-native technology to design, build and launch secure and scalable software solutions for customers in North and South America, Europe, Northern Africa and South-East Asia.
Headquartered in Dublin and with development teams in Romania and Colombia, BoatyardX builds cloud-based custom software for clients in fintech, payments, e-commerce and IoT sectors.
Paul McCann, CEO of Ergo, said: “This acquisition will give Ergo the critical mass we were looking for in our software practice and a brilliant offshore development team that will open many new doors for us. It will also further strengthen our ability to fully support CIOs in a tech advisory capacity, and find new ways to make their applications fit for purpose in fast-changing business environments.”
Brian Barter, managing director of BoatyardX, said: “BoatyardX’s international experience and strength in custom cloud based product development will build on, and enhance Ergo’s extensive digital, cloud and customer technology capabilities. In our first three years we have built real strength in the financial service, e-commerce and payments sectors and look forward to deepening these and continuing our growth into new areas. By joining forces with Ergo, we will accelerate our rapid growth and help organisations build or re-build products that are at the core of their businesses, delivering great experiences for their end customers. Our teams in Romania, Colombia and Ireland are the foundation, providing access to great talent and delivering real value to clients.”
Originally a part of Shipyard Technology Ventures, BoatyardX was founded in 2019 and was recently nominated for Technology Ireland’s outstanding achievement in international growth award, achieving more than €10 million in international sales in its first three years.
