Colour perfection? Epson’s Stylus Pro 4900

Epson has unveiled the Stylus Pro 4900, a 17″ production printer aimed at the photography and fine art markets.

The maker claims the new model “boasts outstanding colour consistency and accurate colour matching”.

Epson says colours on the print are “identical to those of the original image, even when reproduced on a wide range of media.”

The printer driver uses advanced half-toning technology coupled with Epson’s 11-colour UltraChrome HDR inks and Advanced-TFP print head “for superior dot quality”. These technologies are identical to those used in Epson’s larger format production printers up to 44 inches.

The Epson Stylus Pro 4900 offers a production speed of 46sq m per hour and “minimal maintenance requirements.” It has a high-capacity front-loading cassette together with automated paper changing. The printer also switches automatically between photo and matte black inks.

The Epson Stylus Pro 4900 is priced at €2,713 and will be available next month.
