Elon Musk recently announced his plans to move his social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) and rocket firm SpaceX headquarters.
According to a BBC report, he said that the move was due to recent laws passed by the state of California.
Musk was reportedly referring to a new law which prevents schools from making rules which require staff to tell anyone, including parents, information about a child’s gender identity.
California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the first-in-the-nation law earlier this week.
In response to the gender identity law news the billionaire took to X to announce his business’ relocation decision.
“This is the final straw,” he wrote.
“Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.”
