Eircom has rolled out DSL broadband to an additional 30 communities throughout Ireland as part of the latest phase of its DSL broadband rollout scheme.

The company said the rollout is part of its annual €200 million investment in the network, which it said will bring Ireland in line with other EU countries.

Eircom said 85 per cent of telephone lines in Ireland are now connected to broadband exchanges, which it added is only marginally below the EU15 average of 87 per cent.
