Eircom Group has added PayPal as a payment method for its Wi-Fi access transactions.

The service, enabled by technology from Stockholm-based company Aptilo, is free for eircom Broadband, Meteor and eMobile customers, while non-eircom customers can use PayPal in addition to credit cards to purchase access to the eircom WiFiHub service.

For non-eircom and eircom landline customers the service is free for the first 10 minutes and then there is a flat rate charge of €1.00 which will allow users to access the service up until midnight that day. eircom’s WiFiHub is available in more than 1,900 hotspots across Ireland including at Irish Rail and DART stations, in bars, restaurants, coffee shops, petrol stations and other public venues.
