The old adage of strength in numbers is the business model of a new venture called DoBetter.ie.
The new business says that it can “slash costs for Irish companies in under a minute by offering preferential rates on a range of business related products and services”.
The way that the service works is for a membership fee of €99 per year, companies can get access to the products and services of the companies partnered with DoBetter.ie, and thus enjoy the kind of volume discounts normally only offered to large enterprise.
With partner companies ranging from banks to office services and job sites, there are a growing number of discounts and benefits available.
While small businesses have taken some action to regain competitiveness, many costs have until now remained outside their control, says Carmel Coffey, managing director, Do Better.
“By filling in one simple form on our web site, companies could achieve lower landline and mobile phone prices, lower office supply and petrol prices, lower electricity costs, cheaper computer and software prices and much, much more,” said Coffey. “The story is an exciting one as many of our supplier sponsors are huge companies, telcos, banks etc., most of whom have never before published any discounts to smaller business until now.”
Recently added suppliers to the Do Better scheme include O2, Office Depot, Energia, Ulster Bank, Imagine and Topaz. Coffey said that the various partners had been very supportive and recognised Do Better as a cost effective way of acquiring new customers.
