Digiweb going national after funding boost
Digiweb, the Louth-based telco and internet service provider is going national following a €20 million funding agreement with the Moritz Group, an investment development firm operating in Ireland and Central Europe. Digiweb’s expansion, which will see the creation of 100 jobs, involves extending its existing broadband network and building Ireland’s first 4G mobile network. The firm currently employs over 200 staff in Dublin, Limerick, Louth, and Waterford.
Digiweb has 18,000 broadband customers and showed a loss of €31,000 in the year to December 2005, against a €20,000 profit for 2004.
The Moritz injection follows EUR8.5 million investment by Digiweb in its Metro service earlier this year. Metro offers a broadband and telephone bundle for less than €20 monthly.
