The European Union wants to force developers to provide a public address and phone number visible to customers. As of a few days ago, the change went into effect and requires developers to provide this information to Apple.

The requirement is part of a set of new rules under the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA).

The requirement only applies if the developer earns revenue from an app. This includes not only direct revenue from App Store sales, but also in-app purchases or advertisements. Developers of free apps can remain anonymous.
