The Department of Education has installed a number of new servers to support the implementation of a new financial management system and replace older hardware used to run its major systems.
Unitech Systems installed a number of IBM pSeries servers, which provide higher performance, greater scalability and more capacity. Unitech also facilitated the transfer of skills in the support of the new infrastructure to the Department’s IT staff.
Loman McCaffrey, sales account manager, Unitech Systems, said: ‘In replacing servers that were close to the end of their life with newer systems that are under warranty we have significantly lowered maintenance and technical support costs at the Department. We also provided onsite support for staff at the department during the implementation’.
