Citrix’s Password Manager saw a more than 100% increase in customer deployments during 2005 compared to the previous year, the company announced. The company attributed the growth largely to increasing data security concerns and compliance issues that have arisen from both HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.

Password Manager is a single sign-on (SSO) solution for accessing password-protected Windows, Web and host-based applications and is aimed at the enterprise market.

According to research firm IDC, the market for identity and access management (IAM) products will grow to almost $4 billion by 2009.

“Organisations need to control access to their business applications, and be able to demonstrate that only authorised users can access sensitive or private information and systems,” said Phil Schacter, analyst, Burton Group.
