Global payment services provider Fexco has upgraded its storage solution to the latest Dell/EMC CX range of storage area networks (SANs) and installed data mirroring between sites, in a contract worth over €375,000.

Fexco has multiple sites in Ireland and abroad but needed an updated IT solution for its increasing data storage needs due to its continuing expansion. The Kerry-based company also needed a comprehensive backup and data replication solution.

John Bowler, IT Support Manager, Fexco, said, “We process payments for customers all over the world and have offices around the globe.  In order to support this complex infrastructure, we required an upgraded solution that would allow us to communicate between all the Fexco sites and store increasing amounts of data.”

Fexco had already chosen Dell to supply its storage needs three years ago and the upgrade was completed using data-in-place upgrade capabilities, minimising any disruption to the business.  The mirroring of the two sites was consequently installed with minimum downtime.

Fexco’s full solution includes two Dell/EMC enterprise-class CX 700 SAN’s with a full back-up solution and Dell PowerEdge servers to allow seamless communication between its sites and store critical data. Following the Dell implementation, Fexco now has the capacity for remote mirroring and data replication at its site in Killorglin, Co. Kerry.
