Danske Bank will be replacing Laser cards with Debit MasterCard from November.

Debit MasterCard offers customers greater worldwide acceptance at over 36 million locations and 2 million ATMs around the world. Danske Bank customers will also benefit from increased security such as the MasterCard SecureCode which gives customers enhanced protection against unauthorised use of their card in online transactions meaning less risk of fraud.

Contactless Payments allow customers to pay for items totalling less than €15 with a simple tap of their card at the point of sale terminals in participating retailers including McDonald’s, Insomnia, Arnotts, Boots, Centra, Marks & Spencer, Spar, Eurospar and Mace.

Danske Bank will waive transaction charges (currently 25c) for all contactless transactions on its 24/7 current account package until 31 August 2014. Customers with either of Danske Bank’s two other current account packages (Easy Plus and Prestige) do not incur transaction fees.
