Two new plasma screens from Hitachi include: the CMP4202E, a 42in plasma monitor optimised for digital signage and high ambient light conditions; and the 42PMA400E 42in plasma monitor intended for more controlled environments such as corporate boardrooms and reception areas.
Named H2, the new panels offer a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and brightness levels of 1000 cdm2. The products also make use of Intelligent Image (I2) and Brightview technology and a new digital colour management system which allows the tint and brightness of individual colours to be controlled independently without skewing the rest of the colour settings, thereby improving overall picture quality.
An image conversion process that increases the number of lines from 576 lines to 1024 lines is said to deliver more detailed and a higher resolution image with smoother edges, particularly when viewing images on zoom.
