Cloud centre proposal very hazy

There have been many suggestions over the last few years for how Ireland could kick start its economy to develop in new directions, potentially lifting us out of recession. These have varied from turning the entire country into a certified organic island to developing an IFSC-like clearing house for intellectual property. Now, another proposal has been put forward that would see the country become a centre for the development and establishment of best practice in cloud computing, centred around an applied research centre for cloud computing.

This proposal comes from Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD, and will have some €5 million in funding over five years. In the announcement around the proposed centre, there was precious little by way of detail, and at the time of writing, requests for any further detail from where it will be to who will staff it, have remained unanswered.
