Climate consultancy Climeaction has launched the world’s first video-guided software platform designed to deliver verified, scalable farm-level climate data for food and agricultural supply chains.

VSAg directly gathers regulator-ready farm-level emissions data at scale, including from regions where traditional audits and digital tools fail.

Farm-level emissions account for the majority of climate impact across global food systems, yet they remain the single biggest blind spot in indirect greenhouse gas emissions (or ‘Scope 3’) reporting. Manufacturers face increasing pressure from regulatory frameworks but continue to struggle with fragmented, inconsistent and often unverifiable on-farm data – particularly across complex, multi-country supply chains.

VSAg uses video-guided, offline-ready self-audits, supported by AI- and consultant-led verification and cloud-based dashboards that allow farmers to capture key data using simple video prompts, while manufacturers receive real-time, aggregated insights suitable for compliance, risk management and supply chain transparency.

Paul Murphy, CEO of Climeaction, explained: “Farm-level emissions are the biggest obstacle standing in the way of credible Scope 3 reporting for food companies. Manufacturers are being asked to report, reduce and verify emissions without access to reliable data from the farm gate. VSAg changes that. It delivers verified, scalable farm-level data that works in the real world – for farmers and for global manufacturers alike.”

VSAg is designed to create a win–win across the supply chain. Farmers receive immediate, practical insights into emissions drivers, cost-saving opportunities and productivity improvements, while gaining access to sustainability-linked premiums and markets. Manufacturers gain a scalable, trusted data foundation aligned with global regulatory and reporting requirements.

Charis Aherne, head of agricultural impact & strategy at Climeaction, added: “Too many tools expect farmers to adapt to technology that doesn’t reflect their reality. VSAg was built to be farmer-first – simple, inclusive and accessible – while still delivering the level of accuracy and verification required by regulators, investors and sustainability teams.”

Beyond compliance, VSAg supports a broader transformation of food systems, enabling manufacturers to move from commodity-based pricing toward sustainability-linked value creation, where measurable climate performance is rewarded and supply chains become more resilient and transparent.

The development and scaling of VSAg has been supported in part by Enterprise Ireland, reflecting national backing for high-potential Irish climate innovation.

VSAg is currently being deployed with pilot partners across multiple continents, crops and farming systems. The platform is ready for broader rollout with manufacturers, processors and cooperatives seeking credible, scalable solutions to Scope 3 reporting challenges.
