Checkpoint partner programme

Security vendor Checkpoint has launched a new channel partner programme to the Irish market that it says will be simpler affair than its predecessor and which will provide resellers with more rewards and greater choice.

The move follows a rationalisation earlier in the year of the distribution of its products to the Irish market, which saw it reduce the number of its Irish distributors from three to two. The move was made in response to reseller feedback, according to Viv Francis,
CheckPoint’s channel director for Northern Europe. She said that the company is now keen to increase the breadth of its Irish reseller base and grow its Irish revenues.

The new programme now offers resellers the opportunity to focus on one or all of three security sales areas: web security, internal security and perimeter security. There is also a tier of partner accreditations that stretches from Bronze, Silver and Gold to Platinum.

Finally, there are a number of service specialisations, including security training, certified support, consultancy and managed service provision. Francis told Channels that although there are no Platinum resellers in Ireland at present, it was encouraging a number of its resellers who they consider to have the appropriate
profile, such as Entropy, to win the accreditation.

Partners would be rewarded if they demonstrated a focus on Checkpoint products over competing security vendors. She also hoped that the company can build a closer relationship with existing partners. ‘Ireland is a small market so there is potential for our
relationships to be much closer,’ said Francis.
